The United States is one win away from capturing the Red Group and advancing to Saturday’s championship while the doubles winner between Argentina and France will capture the Blue Group and move into the final.

The U.S. is trying to win the title in Duesseldorf for the first time since 1993. In Friday’s first match on Centre Court 1, Ricoh ATP MatchFacts aces leader John Isner of the U.S. will take a 1-0 advantage against Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic.  On Thursday, Sam Querrey improved to 3-0 in singles this week to give the U.S. a 1-0 lead by defeating Jan Hajek in straight sets.

In the next match, Argentina and France square off in doubles to decide the Blue Group. Argentina last won the title in 2007 and France won the only time in 1986.

On Centre Court 2, Andreas Beck of Germany meets Serbian teenager Filip Krajinovic for the first time. There are three other doubles matches to be held on both courts with Australia-Spain, Germany-Serbia and U.S.-Czech Republic.
